On the first day of our 3-day chimpanzee tracking adventure, we'll drive from Entebbe to Kibale National Park, a 5-6 hour journey through Uganda's picturesque landscapes. As we travel, you'll enjoy views of lush green countryside, rolling hills, and vibrant local villages, providing a glimpse into rural life. This scenic drive sets the stage for the rich biodiversity and exciting experiences that await you in Kibale National Park, Uganda's primate capital.
After an early breakfast, we will head to the park headquarters for a briefing by experienced rangers. You'll learn about the park's chimpanzee population, the tracking process, and essential guidelines to ensure a safe and respectful encounter with the primates.
The tracking can take 2 to 4 hours as we navigate the lush rainforest in search of chimpanzee families. Along the way, you'll have the chance to spot other wildlife and a variety of bird species. Once we locate a chimpanzee group, you'll spend a magical hour observing them in their natural habitat, witnessing their social interactions, playful behavior, and unique personalities up close.
After the chimpanzee tracking, we'll return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you have the option to visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-run project that is a haven for bird watchers and nature lovers. The guided 2-hour walk through the wetland offers a chance to see diverse bird species, butterflies, and primates, providing an enriching experience of the area's unique biodiversity and conservation efforts. We'll then return to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.
On the final day of your 3-day chimpanzee safari, we will start our journey back from Kibale to Entebbe. As we drive, you'll be treated to scenic views of Uganda's picturesque landscapes, including charming villages, lush tea plantations, and rolling hills. We aim to arrive in Entebbe by early afternoon, concluding your adventure with beautiful memories of Uganda's natural beauty and wildlife
