Along the way, you will stop in Fort Portal Town, a historically significant area known as the gateway to the Rwenzori Mountains. In Fort Portal, you can learn about the town’s colonial past and its role in regional trade. You will enjoy a pleasant lunch here before continuing your journey to Kibale, where you will check in at your lodge upon arrival in the early evening and enjoy dinner amid the lush surroundings.

Your day in Kibale National Park begins at 7:00 AM with a meeting at the park headquarters. Here, you will receive a briefing about the park’s remarkable biodiversity and its role as one of Africa’s richest primate habitats. You will then set out on a guided walk to track wild chimpanzees. During this walk, you will gently traverse the forest, listen to the calls and activities of the chimps, and learn about their social behavior in a healthy ecosystem. The tracking experience usually lasts between 2 to 4 hours. After returning to the lodge for lunch, you may choose to visit the Bigodi Wetland. This peaceful site is known for its abundance of birds, butterflies, and various monkey species. The day concludes with a comfortable dinner at the lodge, where you can unwind and discuss the fascinating wildlife encounters of the day.

During the game drive, you may see large herds of elephants, sturdy buffalo, as well as big cats such as lions and leopards. The park’s wetlands and savannahs are also home to countless bird species, and the distant Rwenzori Mountains provide a stunning backdrop. The day ends with a return to your lodge for dinner and a peaceful evening.

On day seven, you begin with an early morning game drive at 6:00 AM in Queen Elizabeth National Park. After the morning excursion, you return to the lodge for lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, a vibrant waterway that links two lakes. On your way, you may travel through the Ishasha Sector, known for its unusual tree-climbing lions—a distinct feature of Uganda’s wildlife. Once in Bwindi, you will check into your lodge and have the remainder of the day to relax and explore the serene environment. This time allows you to enjoy the natural sounds of the forest and observe the patterns of daily life in this remarkable, untouched landscape.

The highlight of your trip unfolds in Bwindi. After a thorough morning briefing at the park headquarters, your group will split into smaller teams to set out for a gorilla trek. This trek takes you deep into the forest to locate a gorilla family, and once found, you will have up to an hour to observe these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Depending on their location, the trek may last from 2 to 6 hours. Later, you have the option to visit the Batwa community. This visit offers insight into the traditions of one of Uganda’s indigenous peoples, including their practices, local healing methods, and even traditional banana brewing. The day concludes with dinner at the lodge, providing a moment to reflect on the deeply moving wildlife encounters and cultural exchanges.
