Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Entebbe, heading southwest toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This scenic drive takes approximately 8 to 10hours, offering fascinating look at Uganda´s diverse landscapes.

As you leave the central region, the scenery gradually shifts from flat open plains to the lush, terraced hills of the west. Along the way, you will see tea plantations, rural villages and vibrant towns all nestled among rolling highlands.

We will make a lunch stop in Mbarara, before continuing toward Bwindi. As you get closer to Bwindi you will see the transition of the landscape to more dense forested environment.

Upon arrival at your lodge, you will check in your lodge and rest.

Note: If you prefer to save time, you can choose to fly from Entebbe to Kihihi airstrip—a scenic flight of about 1 hour and 10 minutes. From there, it’s a 2-hour drive to Bwindi.

Today is the highlight of your safari-tracking the endangered mountain gorillas deep in the misty Bwindi rainforest.

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for at 7:00am briefing with the park ranger. You will then assigned a gorilla family and begin your trek into the forest. The trek can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on where the gorillas are that day.

Once you locate them, you will spend an incredible hour in their presence watching them interact, feed and go about their daily life. It is a humbling and emotional experience that many travelers describe as life-changing.

After the trek, you may choose to join an optional cultural experience such as a guided community walk, visit a traditional healer and interact with the Batwa community: the forest´s original inhabitants.

After an early breakfast, we will begin our journey back to Entebbe. We will have a stopover for lunch along the way and are expected to be in Entebbe in the early evening. In time for your departure.

Note: For a quicker and more comfortable return, you also have the option to fly from Kihihi airstrip back to Entebbe. The flight takes approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes, compared to the longer drive by road.
