After an early breakfast, we’ll drive to the park headquarters for a briefing with the Rwanda Development Board rangers. Here, you’ll be assigned to a gorilla family and receive important guidance for the trek ahead.
The hike can last anywhere from 2 to 6 hours depending on the gorillas’ location—but every step is worth it. The trail winds through bamboo forests and lush hills, filled with birdsong and fresh mountain air. Then comes the moment you’ll never forget: observing mountain gorillas in the wild. You’ll spend a magical hour quietly watching as they feed, play, and interact—one of Africa’s most powerful wildlife experiences.
Optional Cultural Visit:
After the trek, you may choose to visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village. Here, local communities share stories, dances, and traditions that celebrate Rwanda’s cultural heritage. You’ll learn about traditional medicine, banana brewing, and rural life through an immersive, respectful exchange.
Return to your lodge in the evening for a warm dinner and well-deserved rest.
