After an early breakfast, head to the Kibale park headquarters for a detailed briefing. You’ll then venture into the forest with guides to track habituated chimpanzee groups. The trek can last 2 to 4 hours depending on chimp movement, and once located, you’ll have one unforgettable hour observing them—watching them swing through trees, groom each other, and vocalize in complex calls.
After the morning tracking experience, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
Optional Afternoon Activity:
Explore the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-managed ecotourism site known for rich biodiversity including birds, butterflies, and primates like colobus monkeys. The 2-hour walk is an excellent way to learn about local conservation efforts and support the surrounding community.
