Your 6-day safari begins with your arrival in Kigali, Rwanda, where you will be greeted by your guide at Kigali International Airport and transferred to your accommodation. After settling in, you’ll embark on a city tour that includes a visit to the Genocide Memorial, a deeply moving site that offers insight into Rwanda's tragic history and the resilience of its people. If time permits, you'll also have the opportunity to explore other parts of Kigali, such as the Kigali Museum and Kimironko Market, before spending the night in the city, preparing for the adventure ahead.

You will begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in Uganda, a scenic drive of about 4-5 hours. As you cross from Rwanda into Uganda, you’ll be treated to views of lush hillsides and rural villages. Upon arrival in Bwindi, you’ll have the option to visit the Batwa Community, where you’ll learn about the indigenous people of the region, their cultural practices, and traditional lifestyles. You may also choose to visit local traditional healers or nearby schools, where you can interact with the community and learn more about their way of life. After these enriching experiences, you will check into your lodge near the park and rest for the exciting trek the next day.

After an early breakfast, you’ll be briefed by rangers and then set off into the dense forest. The trek can be challenging, but the reward is unparalleled: spending an hour with the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. These magnificent creatures are gentle giants, and the opportunity to observe them in such an intimate setting is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. After your time with the gorillas, you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch in the forest, surrounded by the beauty and tranquility of nature. The day ends with a return to your lodge for a well-deserved rest.

You’ll begin your journey to Kasese, located at the base of the Rwenzori Mountains. This 4-5 hour drive takes you through Uganda’s southwestern region, where the landscape is a patchwork of lush valleys, expansive tea plantations, and local villages. The route also offers breathtaking views of the Rwenzori Mountains, often referred to as the “Mountains of the Moon.” Upon arrival in Kasese, you’ll check into your accommodation and have the rest of the day at leisure to relax and prepare for the adventure of the next day.

After breakfast, you’ll drive to the base camp of the Rwenzori Mountains, which takes about an hour. Once there, you’ll begin your trek into the mountains, where you’ll be treated to stunning views of lush forests, waterfalls, and the snow-capped peaks of the Rwenzori range. The hike is challenging, but the experience is rewarding, and you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the mountains. Afterward, you’ll descend to the starting point, where your driver will be waiting to take you back to Kasese for the night.

You’ll make the drive back to Kigali. The scenic journey takes about 4-5 hours, and along the way, you’ll be able to enjoy the lush landscapes of both Uganda and Rwanda. Once in Kigali, you’ll be transferred to your hotel or the airport for your departure, bringing your memorable safari to a close.
