After an early breakfast, we will head to the park headquarters at 7:00 AM for a briefing before setting off on an exhilarating gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes National Park. The trek will take anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours, depending on the movement of the gorilla family you are assigned. Once you find the gorillas, you will have upto one hour to observe them up close, watching their interactions, behaviors, and family dynamics—a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.
After the trek, you have the option to visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, a vibrant community initiative that showcases Rwanda’s rich cultural heritage. Here, you can engage with locals, watch traditional dances, learn about Rwandan customs, and even participate in activities like traditional drumming. This experience offers a deeper connection to the people and traditions of Rwanda while supporting community-based tourism.
Later, we will return to the lodge, where you can unwind and reflect on your incredible day.
